The illuminated nights of Bourges
Only 34 minutes by car from our Hotel Continental, from July 14 to September 26, 2020, discover the Nuits Lumière de Bourges at the cutting edge of technology!
For 20 years, Bourges has been illuminated in the evening during the summer months.
This year again, the Nuits Lumière version of the event highlights the heritage of the Berry capital. New technologies and scenographies will be used to tell the city's history on the façades of emblematic monuments! You will always find as a common thread the blue lights and a mascot, the bear linked to the story of Jean de Berry. The scenographies will showcase the different eras and characters that have made the city what it is today.
The tour in the heart of the historic centre of Bourges
At nightfall, from July to September, you will be guided by the blue lanterns of the historic centre. A 2km long route will allow you to discover 5 new scenographies projected on different monuments of the Berruyer heritage:
- The Gallo-Roman rampart in the garden of the Archbishopric
- Hotel Lallemant
- The Estève Museum
- The Jacques Coeur Palace
- The former Archbishopric, former Town Hall
An enchanting setting
This magical walk of 2.5 km and about 1h30 in the medieval streets of the city centre, will give you some clues about the history of Berrichon.
Bourges is a magnificent city in the middle of the day but the scenography of the night gives way to an enchanting setting.
You will discover texts, projections, music, at every street corner.
Every year, about 70,000 visitors enjoy these moments for young and old.
