The canal allows seasonal electric boats without permits to appear for the season in the Vierzon sector in Thénioux. The Thénioux site offers electric boat rentals.
In May, weekends and holidays, from 3 pm to 8 pm
June to September, Wednesday to Sunday, and public holidays, 9:30 am to 8 pm

> The Greenway of the Berry Canal: Montluçon / Vallon-en-Sully
Superb bike route of nearly 20 km laid mostly on the towpath of the canal and punctuated with many structures: locks, lock houses, canal bridge of Vaux, drawbridge Davoue... A half course, the place called Magnette, particularly rural, houses a small museum dedicated to the history of the canal.
> 30 years of work
Under the leadership of Napoleon I, work began in 1808 in the region of Montlucon and ended in 1841 with the completion of the section Vierzon - Noyers-sur-Cher.
Originally named the Cher Canal, this canal has the distinction of having 3 distinct branches that meet at Fontblisse. It will become the Channel of the Duke of Berry in 1814. Long of 261 km and including 97 locks, the canal in relation with the rest of the French river network crossing a part of Bourbonnais, Berry and Touraine, to finally join the canal lateral to the Loire. Traffic increased to over 1,000 barges per year and 570,000 tons between 1873 and 1920.
Opened in 1835, with locks of 2m70 wide, this channel called "small size" has led to the design of "berrichons" boats specially adapted to this channel of 27.50m x 2.60m maximum.
